EDN has published and interesting article on FPGA, the novelty in it is that in times of economic downturn FPGA technology provides shorter development time, easier updates and fight against product obsolescence. For us working with Acromag, we knew that FPGA features lend themselves very well to shorter time-to-market and lower cost. However the methodology is varied and requires preparation before attacking new project using FPGA.
